April 28, 2008 - Nolan M.
Nolan is the son of Ellen and Robert McCarthy. He is a freshman and participates in: Football, Basketball and Baseball.
In class, Nolan displays a high level of enthusiasm and a love of learning that has a positive influence on his classmates. He takes great pride in his work and goes above and beyond the minimum requirements of his assignments. In his spare time, Nolan enjoys hunting and dirt biking.

April 14, 2008 - Jacob M.
Jake is the son of son of Lisa and Tom Metz. He is a freshman and participates in: Football, Track and Quiz Bowl.
Jake has been a big help to the science department lately and shows exceptional maturity for a young student when it comes to learning science and participating in class. He has dedicated his free time to the science department because of his passion for science.

April 1, 2008 - Samantha A.
Samantha is the daughter of Sue and Chris Austin. She is a freshman and is a member of The Northern Stars-Traveling Soccer Team, Cross Country, Orchestra and 4-H.
Sam is impressive in many ways, but two are distinct. First, Sam is mature and responsible enough to get help in school when needed, but only after an adamant effort on her own. Second, Sam dealt with stress fractures in both legs, then physical therapy for one month before school, then more right after that, and yet, she never missed a beat!

March 18, 2008 - Kelley H.
Kelley is the daughter of Michele Ferrara and Karl Hiltunen. She is a senior and participates in: Building Trades, UP Construction Skills Challenge, Ladies Auxiliary and is a cashier at Family Foods.
Kelley is an excellent student who works very hard to achieve her goals. She is currently a member of the West Iron County Building Trades class as well as a member of the WIC UP Skills Challenge team. Kelley maintains her grades while maintaining her job at Family Foods. She is currently enrolled at Gogebic Community College for the Fall semester of 2008-2009 where she plans to pursue an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Construction Technology.

March 4, 2008 - Eddie E.
Eddie is the son of Lisa Woods and Mark Erhart. He is a senior and participates in: National Honor Society, Quiz Bowl and Tennis.
Eddie is an outstanding student in and out of the classroom. With his interest and knowledge of history and political science, Eddie always adds to the overall positive atmosphere in the classroom. He is also willing to volunteer so our school and community can be a better place.

February 19, 2008 - Tara J.
Tara is the daughter of Lorena Evans and Alan Jenkins. She is a senior and participates in: Hockey, Forest Club, Spanish Club, and Church Activities.
Tara is a person who cares about others before herself. She has participated in four mission trips, travelled abroad with the Spanish Club, plays hockey, and is vice president of the Forest Club. Next year, Tara will be continuing her education at Northern Michigan University for a degree in Elementary Education.

Devin is the son of Stacy and Greg Leonarduzzi. He is a freshman and looks forward to participating in golf this spring.
Devin is an exceptionally skilled young artist and all-around student. He exhibits a good work ethic, displays commitment to his studies, always respectful of others, and comes to class every day with a healthy attitude.

January 21, 2008 - Nicholas W.
Nicholas is the son of Jackie and Mark Wiegand. He is a freshman and enjoys hunting, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and other outdoor activities.
Nick is a very hard worker. He always gives his best effort no matter what he is doing. He is always willing to pitch in to help when something needs to be done. Classmates as well as teachers like him and respect his compassion and honesty. Nick is a delight to have in class.

Linda is the daughter of Rana and Nicola Haddad. She is a junior is participates in: Orchestra, Forest Club, and Quiz Bowl.
Linda is a dedicated musician. She displays her leadership abilities everyday. Linda is a good student. She is willing to help others. She is a positive role model for her peers. Linda excels in the classroom and is always willing to put forth 100 percent. If you ask her to complete a task, she will do it and do it well.

Ashley is the daughter of Julie Larson and Steve Kolbach. She is a sophomore and is a charismatic student with a kind smile.
In the classroom, Ashley is an active participant who helps classmates and leads by example. She is an exemplary model of how a positive, enthusiastic attitude and a determined work ethic can earn success. Ashley enjoys reading and cooking.

Ally is the daughter of Sue and Mike Gilligan. She is a senior and participates in: Tennis, Quiz Bowl, Forest Club, and National Honor Society.
Ally excels academically and in her involvement in extra-curricular activities. Her dedication and commitment to excellence in the classroom is shown on every assignment or test. She volunteers to spearhead many activities in Forest Club and High School Bowl. This includes fundraising, maple syrup project, and designing a local quiz bowl tournament with other schools. We are very proud of her.

Sara is the daughter of Stacy and Michael Nichols. She is a sophomore and is an avid reader.
Sara is a very hard-working student. She is a very quiet, and puts all of her effort into doing a good job on her assignments. She is at the top of her Algebra 2 class. Her work ethic is matched by her good manners and respect for others.

Jenny is the daughter of Lauren Zanon. She is a senior and participates in Student Council, Key Club, and Forest Club.
Jenny is a very reliable and determined student and expends maximum effort in the assignments and projects that comprise the business courses that she is enrolled in. Jenny is motivated and is well-rounded socially. She is a hard worker who will complete any task put before her.

Erin exhibits qualities of a true learner. She always displays a
positive attitude and works beyond what is expected. She shows great
enthusiasm for classroom activities and is a great participant in class
discussions. She volunteers for extras and seems to manage to convince
others to also help. She is a fine role model in both word and deed.

Cody is the son of Cheryl and Jerry Applin. He is a senior. Cody works at Bigari Ace Hardware. He also enjoys hunting and fishing. Cody is building a Buick Regal drag car.
Cody has a good attitude and is a hard worker. He has been a great help in the vocational classes. When Cody is given a job, he will complete it. He is a good role model for his fellow classmates as he has a very positive work ethic.

Jaclyn is the daughter of Barb and Ralph Salonen. She is a senior. She participates in Tennis, Golf, and Quiz Bowl.
Jaclyn is a wonderful person. She is hard working, both in the classroom and on the playing field. She is a leader and is able to teach younger students. I enjoy having her on the tennis team and watching her improve. In the classroom, she strives to do her best with a very difficult schedule. She is willing to do extra things whenever asked.
