ESSER III Funding Stakeholders Input Survey

Dear Wykon Staff & Parents,

The US Department of Education has released three significant federal grants for schools. These are called the "Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief" (ESSER) funds, and they are designed to provide relief funding to schools to address the impact of Covid.

West Iron County Schools is seeking input from all school employees, parents, and community stakeholders to help us determine how the district should best utilize these funds. The purpose is to address learning loss, further Covid protection, and other school needs.

Allowable uses of these funds include;

  1. Cleaning supplies & training (ex: cleaning machines, foggers, wipes)
  2. Technology updates, infrastructure, & connectivity (ex: laptops, internal connectivity, virtual libraries)
  3. Social & emotional support and training (ex: school social worker, social emotional learning resources)
  4. Additional learning time to accelerate learning (ex: summer school, new programs and staff)
  5. Instructional materials & staffing to help with learning recovery (ex: summer book giveaway, classroom libraries)
  6. Transportation (new busses, vans, etc.)
  7. Coordinated services for long-term school closures/virtual instruction
  8. Professional development (ex: training for teachers)
  9. Improving indoor air quality (ex: air exchangers, air conditioning)
  10. Improving facilities (ex: touchless units, 21st century classroom furniture)

We need your input on how we could potentially use this money. So, please click the button below or go to https://forms.gle/iL9qyqeDaMihdDmT9 to complete the survey on what you feel should be the District's top priorities.

Please rate the areas on the list in order of MOST (1) to LEAST (10) important. Be sure to select a number for each choice. No two choices should have the same number or it will return it as an error message. The survey closes on Friday, November 12th.
