Mr. Dallavalle was born and raised in Iron River, Michigan and is the son of Dean Dallavalle and Sue Clisch. He graduated from West Iron County in 1994. He attended Michigan Technological University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor and Michigan Teaching Endorsement in 1999. He began teaching science at Forest Park High School in the fall of 1999 and changed jobs to his hometown in 2002. During this time, he completed his Master of Science Degree in Applied Science Education from Michigan Tech.
Mr. Dallavalle is currently in his 23rd year of teaching. During this time, he also earned an Associate’s degree in Business Administration w/ Accounting Speciality from Gogebic Community College. Mr. Dallavalle has always been involved in extracurricular activities with his students. During his tenure at West Iron, he was the junior class advisor for two years, has coached Varsity Girls’ basketball for 13 years, Junior Varsity Girls’ basketball and Junior Varsity Boys basketball for 2 years, 8th Grade Girls’ basketball for 7 years, and Varsity Boys Golf for 5 years.
He currently serves as the Middle School Boys basketball Coach and will be the Varsity golf coach again this year. Mr. Dallavalle has always believed in offering the best education possible to our students at West Iron County, and as a result, he has been involved in leadership positions with the WIC Education Association and serves on the school improvement committee eleven years running.
Mr. Dallavalle is married to Kira (Guzowski) Dallavalle and is the proud father of his son Ryan, a 6th grader at West Iron, and his Daughter Adrianna, a 4th grader at West Iron. He enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, camping or riding the trails in their UTV. Mr. Dallavalle currently teaches high school physics, physical science, biology and one section of 8th grade Earth Science.
