Meet Mr. Lee Rometti

Mr. Rometti was born and raised in Iron River. He has been teaching full time at West Iron County for 30 years. He is a 1984 graduate of West Iron. He went to college at Lake Superior State University and earned a bachelor degree in Recreation Management and General Business. He had plans to manage large resorts. During his internship at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City, Mr. Rometti had the opportunity to plan programs for groups of teens. He then worked at Camp Batawagama where he decided that teaching high school was the right career for him. He combined his enjoyment of working with teens and his love for business and earned a Business Education degree at Northern Michigan University. He began teaching at West Iron County in 1992.

During his time at West Iron, Mr. Rometti has started and taught many business courses. He has also been the advisor for the senior class, sophomore class, National Honor Society, and the Business Professionals of America Club. Through BPA, he has been able to take groups of students to competitions all over the U.S.

Outside of teaching, he loves to spend time with his wife Sandy and four children, work with his church, travel to other parts of the world, and spend time in the outdoors.

Mr. Rometti’s favorite part of teaching is building relationships with his students and seeing them learn to use their God-given talents.
