Meet Mrs. Brenda Grubbs

Mrs. Brenda Grubbs has been a dedicated teacher at West Iron County for more than 26 years. She was born and raised in Hayward, Wisconsin, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education form the University of Wisconsin - Superior, and earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Marygrove College. Mrs. Grubbs started her teaching career as a Title 1 teacher and then she taught 5th grade for 12 years and finally, landed where she is today, in the 3rd grade.

Mrs. Grubbs has a true passion for working with the young learners that step foot into her classroom. Helping each child progress in all areas of their development - academically and socially is an honor she accepts daily. She strives to create a community of learners that nurtures this growth in a positive, fun environment. One of the most fulfilling experiences she has done was being involved in the Summer School program this past summer. For her, it was a privilege to work with Stambaugh Elementary students in such a fun, enriching environment.

During her tenure at West Iron, Mrs. Grubbs has always been involved in many different areas of the Wykon community from coaching, running time clocks and serving on many leadership ommittees. Although she found each of these experiences worthwhile, her true passion is in studying and implementing the best curriculum for her students. To her, there is nothing pleasing than watching a young student progress and grow into an avid reader.

Personally, Mrs. Grubbs will be celebrating 30 glorious years of marriage to her husband Dan. They have two beautiful daughters - Mya, who is in her sophomore year at the College of St. Scholastica and Abbie, who is a newlywed and a brand new mom. Mrs. Grubbs loves reading, gardening, walking her dog Revi, and spending time with her family. Her latest passion is getting the sweet baby snuggles from her brand new granddaughter - Taytum Jane.
