I was born and raised in Iron River and graduated from West Iron in 1988. After high school I attended Ferris State University majoring in radiography and later received my teaching degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. After living and teaching in Oklahoma for 24 years I am happy to be back home in the beautiful Upper Peninsula. This will be my 22nd year teaching and over the course of my teaching career I have taught 1st through 6th grades. I love reading and am very happy to be teaching 5th grade English Language Arts here at West Iron.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family as well as being outdoors camping, fishing, and hunting. I have a daughter and son-in-law who live in Texas along with a new granddaughter, Collins Grace.
