Jeff Swenski has been a teacher at West Iron County Schools for 19 years. When Jeff was a student at West Iron in the Building Trades program, his goal was to return one day as the instructor for the program. He attened Gogebic Comminty College, receiving his Associates in Construction Technology, and transferred to UW-Stout in Menomonie, WI, to complete his B.S. in Technology Eduation. In addition to being a teacher and Lincense Contractor, Jeff is also a member of the West Iron County Fire Department, where he has served his community for 20 years, and works as a carpenter during the summer months.
One of most rewarding things about his position is watching students who have gone through his classes go out into the workforce and be successful and hardworking adults. Jeff enjoys teaching his students not only the skills and knowledge necessary for advancing through high school, but also the employability and life skills that they can apply after graduation.
Jeff and his wife, Stephanie, have three children, Johnothan (17), Julia (15), and Matthew (13). When Jeff is not teaching, he enjoys attending sporting events for his children, being an active member of the Iron Amateur Hockey Association, vegetable gardening, summer water sports, hunting, and building.
