West Iron Middle and High School Survey Snapshot

Our school administered surveys to measure student, staff, and family perception of factors pertaining to school climate and student life skills. Below are some of the main take-aways and how we plan to use this data!

Glow

  • 6th-12th Grade student data identified that PBIS School Climate shows a 4% increase in positively recognizing student behavior.
  • There was an overall increase of 1% for Self-Awareness in 6th-12th grade students with the biggest increase in the ability to describe their feelings.
  • Teacher/Staff data identified that PBIS School Climate shows an 11% increase in positively recognizing student behavior.
  • There was an overall increase of 4% for teacher perception of student grit. The largest increase was in regard to staff perception of students staying focused on projects they felt were important to them.
  • There was an overall increase of 2% for staff perception of student mindset. Within that topic we observed a 25% increase in staff believing in their students potential to improve. This is indicative of a growth mindset.
  • We met our goal of a 25% increase in family survey responses!
  • One of the largest increases for family responses was perception of the school positively recognizing student behavior.

Grow

  • Based on the cumulative data, we will continue to target overall School Climate, based on lack of growth from student, staff, and family perception.

Goals

We will improve our School Climate scores for student, staff, and family surveys by 5% by Spring 2024.
