Subject: A Loss in Our School Community

Dear Wykon Families,

It is with a great deal of sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of a longtime, beloved member of our school community.

Mr. David Kunchynski, a West Iron County Schools Middle School math teacher and a proud graduate of West Iron County Schools, passed away unexpectedly. For more than 27 years, David served our students, families, and community with remarkable dedication. He was a steady, caring presence in our district and a true public servant whose impact will be felt for years to come.

We recognize that news like this can be difficult, especially for those who knew Mr. Kunchynski well. Counselors will be available in the coming days for any student or staff members who may need support. If you need assistance outside of school hours, please call/text 9-8-8 for help.
